2017Lioness Adopts Leopard Cub in Tanzania
Lions and Leopards are 2 of the BIG 5 wild animals that tourists flock our national parks to search for. Naturally, these two are sworn enemies that normally keep out of each other’s path. It was therefore a shocking and totally bewildering moment when a five year old Lioness was last spotted two weeks ago nursing a Leopard cub at Tanzania’s Ngorongoro conservation area.

We welcome all your safari enquiries and bookings to Tanzania. This totally unprecedented thing is something that normally never happens in the wild. Lions are known to kill Leopard cubs on site, and although how the two came together or the whereabouts of the cub’s mother remain a mystery, wildlife experts argue that the Lionesses motherly instincts may have kicked in and overrode the desire to kill the young Leopard as any Lion would do. The Lioness known as Nosikitok is known to currently have young cubs of her own hidden in the bush. As we all continue to marvel at this rare happening, most wildlife experts argue that this relationship may not end well…………….. In the meantime, we all leave nature to take it’s course as we get one more reason as to why Tanzania, the “soul of Africa” remains one of the best safari destinations.
